Benji & Cai – Are safe and will be off to their new home shortly
The situation is now very urgent, this pair have no where to go and if they are not rehomed by the end of the month their owner only has one option.
Benji & Cai are in need of urgent rehoming. We are currently unable to offer them a space so they are with the owner. All applications will be forwarded to the owner and they all dealing will be direct with them. BARK will not be having any part of the application process and will be unable to offer our usual rescue back up. They are currently staying in the Durham area. The below is details provided by the owner and they do sound a lovely pair, who are looking to be rehomed together.
Benji and Cai have found themselves looking urgently for a new home due to tragic circumstances and no fault of their own. Benji is 8 years 3 months and Cai is 6 years and 9 months and have the same parents and are Kelpie Collie crosses. Both are very sweet and sociable pair. They have lived with children and were brought up with cats. The are good with other dogs if a little ‘over friendly’.
Benji was hit bay a car as a youngster and had a broken leg which needed screws. It healed beautifully and there have been no issues since. Cai can be anxious when asked to do new things.
Neither dogs has been trained to walk on lead as they’ve had 200 acres of field, woodland and river to roam in. they mostly live in an pen outside but both our house trained and are very well behaved in the house.
They have experience of working with a small number of sheep although not formally trained. If working on foot they are very good and listen to commands, if you introduce a quad bike they get over excited and forget to listen.
They both respond to a lot of commands, sit, lie down wait, leave it, fetch it, paw etc.
Cai has 100% recall but Benji will ignore if sniffing something particularly good. Both are vehemently opposed to bathing.
They love any time of ball, are fantastic dogs with great personalities. This is a very reluctant rehome but sadly circumstances mean they can’t be kept.
If you are interested in offering this lovely pair a new home please complete and return an application form. Please note this is direct from home and none of BARK normal rehoming conditions apply.
