Buddy – No more enquiries please
Buddy is currently meeting up with a potential new owner and their dogs on a regular basis. As such we have put further applications on hold.
Buddy was born in August 2023. And is a silver labrador type (basically a chocolate lab with a ‘dilute’ gene). We have been giving conflicting information on his history but we do know he bit a child and was to be put to sleep. The circumstances around this have been confused with different stories but we feel that Buddy has shown a great deal of tolerance leading up to the biting incident, He is hand shy and is wary of men.
Buddy has settled in kennels has a tail that never stops wagging, loves a tennis ball and will play until he decides it’s time to go back to bed.
We have taken a slow approach with Buddy and allowed him to lead an interaction with us. He is very loving. Buddy was terrible on lead when he arrived but is now 99% of the time a loose lead walk.
We are looking for a quiet home for Buddy where he will be allowed to take things at his own pace with no pressure but the experience to introduce new experiences and allow him to gain confidence. A commitment to take Buddy to training classes to aid his confidence.
We will not home Buddy with children.
Buddy has a few dog friends in the kennels, he is very full on for the initial meet and needs to say hello almost immediately but as soon as he has said hello he goes about his day. When Buddy has been off lead with other dogs he on the whole ignores them and just plays but is more submissive during interactions. Cats probably aren’t a good idea.
Buddy has really mellowed into a very happy dog. He is terrified of anything new but trusts us to help him through. Everyone at the kennels absolutely adores Buddy, he is such a happy chap.
