Volunteering at Berwick Animal Rescue Kennels – Kennels – Over 18 please see below for under 18

Please note the work at the kennels is physically very demanding, the dogs at kennels are often large with little or no lead training. We work in all weathers. We do a lot of cleaning which involves lots of moving of lightweight to medium weight items and lots of bending.  You will need to be prepared to work in the area of current need although we can sometimes accommodate specific preferences.  Please return Kennel application forms to BARK, Windmill Way East, Ramparts Business Park, Berwick-upon-Tweed, TD15 1TU

Our facilities and resources limit our ability to accept young placement.  If you are under 18  you must be over 18 years of age or be placed through either Work Experience of Duke of Edinburgh (or similar) schemes

Volunteers placements are much sought after and we operate a waiting list for volunteers.

We are not currently taking any further applications for Duke of Edinburgh placements at the kennels.

Work Experience and Duke of Edinburgh

We do take Work Experience and Duke of Edinburgh placements from the age of 14.   Please also get the referring organisation (eg your school or placement adviser)  to fill in Refer Q YA. Please note places at the kennels are limited and are only available between 8 and 10 am on either a Saturday or Sunday for Duke of Edinburgh and  8am – 2pm Tuesday to Saturday for Work Placements.  Please apply in plenty of time and ensure the referral questionnaire is fully completed by the appropriate agency (eg School)

Placements are very much sought after, please apply in plenty of time as we are only able to have one work experience student in at a time.  If ringing please ring yourself, we don’t bite, honest.

Please note we are not taking any application enquiries for our kennels at the moment. Please do not apply as we are unable to hold your information. Thank you
