16/1/21 Alfie is on hold at the moment, no more applications please

Alfie is a golden oldie whose owner died recently. He was clearly very much loved and saw a vet regularly. Alfie has some heart issues and was due an operation on a growth on his foot that was causing some issues. Due to its size it had become ulcerated and the only option was for him to have an operation. We delighted to say he made it through that op so we are now looking for just the perfect home for him. He has a grade 3 (out of 6) heart murmur and is not currently on any medication. We have to say he certainly isn’t letting it get in the way of life.

Despite his dozen years he is still extremely strong and full of life. He loves to play. We know he has lived with small dogs (Dude and Lacy) and appears very good around other dogs.
Unfortunately under current restrictions we are unable to introduce Alfie to any resident dogs in a new home and this could hold up the chance of rehoming him so priority will be given to those who currently have no other dogs. Additionally we can only rehome within a very small area currently and not in Scotland at all. For full details see Things To Consider – Berwick Animal Rescue Kennels (b-a-r-k.co.uk) If you feel you are in a position to offer that perfect home for Alfie and match our current rehoming criteria please do put in an application and we will get back to you as soon as we can.
