Max came in January 2024 when his owner was struggling to look after his general health. While in with us his skin improved to perfection and all his tummy issues were sorted. He went back to his owner who ultimately felt he could manage going forward. Sadly Max’s condition deteriorated again and he came back into us in August 2024.

Max is a youngster who is just 2 and since coming in has treatment for his B12 deficiency which is now managed by just tablets. We also looked into his legs and while there is nothing needing an operation we have been working hard to build his muscles up and this has paid dividends. As he is feeling so much better now he has become a lively character, full of energy expected of a 2 year old. He can be strong on lead but is actually a great walk once he settles. He appears to be fine around other, larger, dogs although so very noisy. He is beginning to look to us when he sees a dog, albeit for a treat.

Max needs a home where he will have company and an owner who is experienced in providing the right environment and conditions for Max to continue to thrive. Max’s home will be one that can spend time training him to use his brain. We will not consider rehoming Max with other animals including cats. It is possible with careful introductions he could live with a larger dog but the implication of managing two large dogs must be carefully considered.

We may consider an extended rehoming area for the right home. Max is likely to benefit from being on vitamin B12 tablets for life.

(Side Show) Bob – needs time to adjust to any new owner/home so the process will be a slow one
