Scarlett & Sky

Scarlett and Sky are round 3 years old chinchillas. Scarlett is larger and darker (just) than Sky. Although they have only just arrived we have found them to be friendly and have accepted being handled and are very inquisitive of their new environment.

Chinchillas need space, and lots of it. Although their are cages on the market these are best used when supervision for them be out and about in a room is not available. Their diet is mainly hay although the occasional treat is permissible. They prefer cooler temperatures so a conservatory is not a good place to house them. They are most active at dawn and dusk.
