Emma came in with two other (male) tortoises. None of them were in great condition and sadly this may affect them going forward, all are Horsefield.

Emma has had her beaked trimmed and is doing well. Said to be not very old but will likely be at least 10 years old. Emma is the most confident of the three very friendly always nosy.

Emma loves her baths and has quite a speed on her when she wants to get to her food.

Tortoises need a good set up this includes UV (A&B) as well as a heat lamp. There is no such thing as a large tortoise enclosure as a minimum starting enclosure 8 foot by 4 foot but with a view to expand a small shed or playhouse with an attached run. Of course they can live inside but most tortoise table as not suitable for long term housing. All tortoises need a properly lit, well ventilated enclosure, a screened lit is essential when outside. They need to be kept away from dog and cat food. Tortoises are most active during the day. There are several excellent online groups offering advice.
